REPRESENTING MASCOT AT LONDON TELECARE'S NEW MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
MASCOT's Control Centre Manager Suzette Simon represents Merton on the new London Telecare Management Committee, which met for the first time on Friday 23rd July at Ealing.
The Committee seeks to represent Members’ interests and act as forum for the planning of events, meetings and workshops, for the benefit of members. It will also guide policy for the group and ensure that London Telecare remains one of the leading authorities on how to maximise the effectiveness of telecare and telehealth services for the whole community.
Pictured (l.to r.) are Doug Miles (Chairman, London Telecare), Suzette Simon, Gerry Allmark (Newham), Raffaella Somma (Lambeth), Mark Baker (Surrey County Council), June Curran (Lewisham), Leslie Morson (Ealing), and John Chambers (Director, London Telecare). |
MASCOT FOCUS GROUP MEETING 2010
We are holding the next MASCOT Focus Group Meeting in October 2010 - please look out for further details. |
KEYSAFE CHARGES
There is now a charge for this service. It will cost £55.00 to supply and fit, but the keysafe will remain your property even if your MASCOT alarm service is discontinued. Should family members wish to undertake the installation themselves, just contact us to let us know and we can arrange the supply of the keysafe for a charge. |
TELECARE WORKSHOPS
We held workshops in the early part of 2010 for all team managers, so they are able to promote, encourage and support staff making telecare referrals. This has enabled telecare to be seen as a standard service option. |
TRAINING FOR MASCOT STAFF
Our staff have received training on the latest telecare options. We will visit you and make an appropriate assessment to establish your individual needs or requirements. We are in the process of updating our IT system and hope to have this working fairly soon. |
TELECARE SERVICE ASSOCIATION (TSA)
We currently hold full accreditation to this standard and we're currently working towards renewing this in September 2010. This is an on-going yearly exercise and to achieve the accreditation we have to adhere to the standards set. This is a very important factor in our business as it signals to our partners that we are working at a high level of performance and expertise. |
NEW PARTNERS FOR 2010
We are now working with Sutton and Merton Primary Care Trust (SMPCT). We are providing them with an emergency 24/7 reporting line. Once again we are also working closely with Age Concern to help promote the Celebrating Age Festival that takes place yearly in Merton. This event is happening in September 2010 and is designed for the over 50's and we are looking forward to attending. |
FOCUS GROUP Minutes : 6th October 2009
There were 14 attendees at the recent Focus Group meeting - Minutes attached. The latest Telecare awareness campaign banner was on show, featuring a lady who had fallen "on her own, but she wasn't alone" because she had her MASCOT alarm button close at hand. So she pressed the button and got straight through to the operator at the Call Centre who was able to organise help 'at the touch of a button'.
